2010 Ambassadors Dinner

The 6th annual EABC Ambassadors Dinner took place Thursday, July 1 2010 at the Residence of the Belgian Ambassador in Washington DC.

Belgian Ambassador Jan Matthysen chaired the dinner as part of the launch of the Belgian Presidency of the European Union. Many government officials and company executives were in attendance and a few gave formal remarks on the 2010 theme “Trans-Atlantic Competitiveness in the 21st Century.” Speakers included the Honorable Robert Hormats - Under Secretary for Economic, Energy & Agricultural Affairs, US Department of State, Mr. Angelos Pangratis - Chargé d’Affaires, EU Delegation to the United States, Ambassador Hugo Paemen - Co-Chairman, European American Business Council, Mr. Wolfgang Pordzik - Deutsche Post DHL, Mr. Alexis Brouhns - Solvay, Mr. David Stafford - Northrop Grumman, Mr. Joseph Alhadeff - Oracle and Mr. Michael Maibach - European American Business Council.

Our dinner guests included nineteen European Ambassadors, twenty-one senior US Administration and European officials, and forty-six senior EABC company executives.

EABC Ambassadors Dinner – 2010 Agenda

2009 Ambassadors Dinner - Washington DC

The 5th annual EABC Ambassadors Dinner took place Thursday, July 9 2009 at the House of Sweden in Washington DC.

Swedish Ambassador Jonas Hafström chaired the dinner as part of the launch of the Swedish Presidency of the European Union and numerous officials and company executives spoke about elements of the dinner theme “Trans-Atlantic Sustainability: Economic & Environmental Competitiveness.” Speakers included Mr. David Sandalow, Assistant Secretary, US Energy Department, Mr. Angelos Pangratis, Deputy Chief of Mission, EC Delegation to the United States,  Mr. Stuart Eizenstat, Co-Chairman, European-American Business Council, Mr. Ulf Pehrsson, Ericsson, Ms. Laura Ipsen, Cisco Systems, Mr. Walter Precourt, Holcim, Mr. Warren Martin Strauss, Monsanto, and Mr. Michael Maibach, European-American Business Council.

Our dinner guests included twenty European Ambassadors, thirty-two senior US Administration and European Commission officials, and fifty-two senior EABC company executives.

2008 Ambassadors Dinner - Washington DC

The 4th annual EABC Ambassadors dinner took place on Wednesday, July 9 2008 at la Maison Française in Washington DC.

French Ambassador Pierre Vimont chaired the dinner as part of the launch of the French Presidency of the European Union and Dr. Robert Kolodner, National Coordinator, Health Information Technology, US Department of Health & Human Services shared his thoughts on Trans-Atlantic health care competitiveness.

Ambassadors Dinner - Brussels

The 3rd annual EABC Brussels Ambassadors dinner will be held on Monday, 6 October 2008 at the Bibliothèque Solvay.

DG SANCO Androulla Vassiliou, EU Commissioner for Health and The Honorable Kristen Silverberg, US Ambassador to the EU will co-chair the dinner and share their thoughts on the French presidency, health care reform and thetransatlantic partnership.

Atlantic Leadership Awards Breakfast

Each year EABC presents an award to leaders in the US & EU government and the private sector for exceptional work addressing issues of evolving Trans-Atlantic economic cooperation and regulatory harmony.

The 3rd annual EABC Atlantic Leadership Awards Breakfast was held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Willard Hotel in Washington DC.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox and European Union Commissioner for Internal Market & Services Charlie McCreevy were presented the 2008 award for their work in advancing increased cooperation between EU and US financial regulators. Vivien Haig, Director General, Transatlantic Policy Network accepted the private sector award. James Quigley, Global CEO Deloitte Touché Tohmatsu was the host of the breakfast.
